Blistering Rash After New Medication
OSCE Voice Station
Olivia is a 38-year-old female presenting with fever and rapidly spreading painful blistering rash with mucosal sores after a new antibiotic. I'm a 38-year-old woman and about three days ago I broke out in painful red and dusky spots that have spread across my chest, back, and face and are now blistering and peeling. My skin is incredibly tender to even light touch. About two weeks ago I started a sulfa antibiotic (trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole) for a bladder infection. Your task is to take a focused history from this patient.
