Venomous Snake Bite

Cody is a 32-year-old male presenting with snake bite on left lower leg with progressive swelling approximately 90 minutes ago. I was hiking on a trail about an hour and a half ago. I was stepping over a fallen log when I felt a sudden sharp pain in my left calf. I looked down and saw a snake striking at my leg — it was brown with dark crossband markings, kind of copper-colored head, maybe two to three feet long.
