Manic Episode

Rachel is a 34-year-old female presenting with 34 y/o f brought by husband for erratic behavior, decreased sleep, and excessive spending over past 10 days. Patient reports feeling fantastic, has not slept more than 2 hours per night for 10 days but feels fully energized. Started multiple business projects, spent $15,000 on supplies and inventory for a business idea last week. Husband reports she is talking nonstop, making grandiose plans, and had a verbal altercation with neighbors. Brought by family - minimal sleep, impulsive spending, grandiose plans. Assess mania, evaluate safety.
